SUMMARY:"Renewing Our Practice”- First Day of Spring! One-Day Mahayana Buddhist Retreat led by Sister Minh Bâo
DESCRIPTION:“Renewing Our Practice” – First Day of Spring! One-Day Mahayana Buddhist Retreat led by Sister Minh Bâo — March 20thMeditations\nWe practice sitting\, walking\, and moving meditations.  Experience not necessary.  All meditations are explained by a teacher or ministerial student.  Meditation is central to developing a practice.  Sitting in the lotus position\, or even cross legged\, is not required.  Just sit comfortably.   \nMetta Practice\nMetta\, or loving kindness\, is a foundational practice.  We practice Metta for all sentient beings as well as for ourselves.  May you be well; May you be happy; May you know love; May you know peace.  You may begin to notice that Metta is at the core of much of what we do.   \nDharma talks\nFive teachers rotate to give Dharma talks\, or the teachings of the Buddha.  They are not lectures.  They come from the heart.   \nParticipation\nServices and Retreats are not spectator sports or classroom lectures.  During the check-in\, Dharma sharing\, and Q&A sessions\, all are encouraged to share.  The Sangha (the group) quickly becomes a trusted circle of friends.   \nPhysical Activity\nWe include instructor led Qi Gong\, nine-joint meditation\, and walking meditation to keep the blood flowing and the brain fresh.   \n\nLead Teacher\nVenerable Thích Minh Thiền (Thay Z)\nAlso known as Thay Z.  Thay was ordained in China under Abbot MingChan of Jiashan Temple\, Hunan China.  He served a novitiate under Thich Minh Tinh and  was re-ordained in the Lâm Tế School of Thiền Buddhism in the lineage of The Most Venerable H.T. Thích Thiên Ân. He will be accepting students after July 15\, 2016. Contact him at thayzzen@gmail.com   buddingdharma.com \n\nRetreat Materials\n\nPrintable version of schedule\nLink to Q&A Page where you can post your Questions\nChant Book (PDF 1.2MB)\n\nZoom Link\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/89185285652 \nOr just open Zoom\, then Join Meeting\, then Enter code 89185285652\n(no password required) \nCheck the notes to the right for any updates to this. \nText Reminders\nText “retreat” to (833) 460-0792 \nOr reply “retreat” to any text reminder from us. \nFor reminders and just in case something doesn’t go according to plans\, which is pretty much guaranteed.   \nIf you’ve subscribed to a retreat text list\, please do so again.   We don’t recycle old retreat text lists as we don’t want to spam people who may have attended a previous retreat but are not at this next one.
